Alexa Mueller

Athlete

Alexa Mueller is a dual-talent athlete and musician whose love of her craft has led her to national titles on the water and a growing presence on major streaming platforms. Alexa began her rowing journey with Y Quad Cities Rowing Club in Moline, Illinois. Under the guidance of Dr. Peter Sharis, she won the 2023 Youth National Championships in the U19 double sculls. The following summer, coming off her freshman year at the University of Minnesota, she was selected as the spare for the U23 National Team, racing in Saint Catharines, Ontario. In total, while overcoming injury in 2024/25, Alexa has accumulated 6 national titles at USRowing-sanctioned regattas across multiple boat classes. Post grad, she intends to train full time to pursue her dream of representing the United States on the Senior National Team.

As a musician, Alexa draws from her midwestern roots. Her most recent Americana  album, “Odd One” is available on all streaming platforms, and explores themes of self-discovery, staying rooted during change, and the nuances of midwestern identity. She performs and releases her music under her stage name “Nova Mueller,” and has played at venues and festivals throughout Minneapolis and the Quad Cities.

“The balance of the pursuit of physical excellence and creative outlet is something that is so often lost in high performance athletics. I want my platform to reflect the possibility that athletes don’t have to lose pieces of themselves to accomplish their goals.”
