Lily Gale

Athlete

Lily is a 17-year-old rower from England whose athletic journey began long before she ever stepped into a boat. From dance and gymnastics at a young age to triathlon, netball, climbing, and trampolining, sport has always been at the center of her life. But after discovering rowing in the summer of 2023, she quickly found the sport that challenged and rewarded her more than any other.

A competitive athlete with trophies in running and triathlon along with medals in trampolining and rowing, Lily understands the level of discipline, resilience, and consistency required to succeed. Despite competing in more than 20 triathlons, she considers rowing the most demanding and the most fulfilling.

Beyond performance, Lily values the culture and community that rowing creates. She believes strong team bonds and positive morale are essential to success on and off the water. As one of the older juniors in her club, she strives to be a role model for younger athletes — someone they can look up to, learn from, and feel comfortable turning to for support. Her mindset is simple: growth comes from persistence, and there is always room to improve if you refuse to give up.

Lily’s passion for leadership extends beyond competition. She has coached younger girls in trampolining and netball and hopes to continue mentoring athletes through rowing in the future while attending university. She is also a writer for JRN, where she stays actively connected to the rowing community and contributes to growing the sport she loves.

Through Rowfluencers, Lily hopes to continue promoting rowing culture, inspire the next generation of athletes, and use her platform to leave a lasting positive impact both within the sport and beyond.
